Internationally known star of movies, stage, and television, Elke Sommer, stars as our host in the program. Her great love of animals makes her a natural choice to take Alfie, a pet she picked out of the East Los Angeles Animal Shelter (Alfie was 6 months old and untrained.) Elke so wanted to see this project made that she volunteered her time to co-produce this video.

Works though needs Updating March 27, 2008
The way this training video is stuctured really works for my dog and I. For one, it shows a regular dog owner (with no prior knowledge of training a dog) going through the process of learning how to teach her new pet how to heel, sit, stay, come, etc. A qualified dog trainer guides her through it (he's trained dogs of famous people in Hollywood, like Stallone, etc)
It's from 1989 so it would be nice if they can produce a new one, and maybe one with dog tricks too (like 'shake', 'beg', 'crawl', etc
